Buying
What it costs, and which one you need.
Is this a subscription?
Some of them. BooshCMS, BooshSEO and BooshDESIGN are £24.99 a year and renew until you cancel. BooshHUB is a single payment and is then yours. The early-bird rate is held for as long as you stay subscribed, so cancelling and coming back later means joining at whatever the price is by then. BooshSEO's data is separate either way: it is billed to you directly by DataForSEO at what the data actually costs.
Which app do I actually need?
It depends on which job is currently costing you the most. BooshHUB if the admin of running the studio is the problem, BooshSEO if being found is, BooshCMS if clients keep emailing you to change a paragraph, and BooshDESIGN if the design-to-code handover is where time disappears. If you are not sure, describe your week to us and we will tell you honestly which would help and which would not.
Can I try one before buying?
Get in touch and say which app and what you would want to test. We would rather you found out it does not suit you before paying than after.
Do I need to buy all of them?
No, and most people should not. They share a design system and they know about each other, but each one does its job on its own. Buy the one that solves a problem you have this month.
Licensing
What a licence covers, and what happens later.
How many machines can I install on?
It depends on the app, because they are used differently. BooshHUB, FEWD Studio and GenCSS activate on two machines, so a desktop and a laptop are both covered. BooshCMS activates on ten, because the point of it is handing a copy to every client whose site you build. BooshSEO and BooshDESIGN are one machine each. If you need more than your licence allows, ask: it is a conversation, not a form.
Do I get updates?
On BooshCMS, BooshSEO and BooshDESIGN, every update is included for as long as the licence is current, major versions included. BooshHUB is bought once, and updates are free within the current major version; a future major version may be a paid upgrade, and if it is we will say so plainly.
Does my client need to buy BooshCMS too?
No. The developer licence covers every site you build and every client you hand the app to. Your clients are never billed for editing their own website.
What happens if I stop using an app?
Nothing stops working. Your data is a file on your own machine, and in BooshCMS’s case the content is Markdown in your client’s own git repository. There is no export step because there is nothing to export from.
Your data
Where it lives, who can see it, and how to get it out.
Where is my data stored?
On your machine. BooshHUB keeps everything in a single SQLite file you can back up, copy or open with any SQLite tool. BooshSEO stores its runs locally. BooshCMS puts the content in your client’s git repository. There is no account and no server holding any of it.
Can you see my data?
No. There is nothing to see. The apps do not send your content anywhere. Where an app talks to a third party it is one you connected with your own key, such as DataForSEO for search data or an AI provider, and that traffic goes from your machine to them.
Does it work offline?
BooshHUB does, completely. It is a local database and a local application. BooshSEO needs a connection for the runs that fetch data, but everything already stored can be read, compared and exported with no connection at all.
How do I back it up?
Copy the file. BooshHUB also takes rolling snapshots on launch and always backs up before a schema upgrade, and there is a Back up now button alongside a restore list in settings. For offsite, drag the file into Drive or Dropbox like any other document.
The apps
Platforms, prerequisites, and how they fit together.
Mac or Windows?
Both. Every app ships for macOS and Windows. There is no Linux build and no web version.
Do I need to know how to code?
For BooshHUB and BooshSEO, no: they are ordinary desktop applications. BooshCMS is handed to clients specifically so they never meet code. BooshDESIGN, FEWD Studio and GenCSS are made for people building websites, so they assume you know what HTML and CSS are.
Do the apps need each other to work?
No. Each one stands alone. They share a design system and they hand things to each other neatly when you use more than one, but nothing is crippled if you only buy one.
Is there AI in these, and can I turn it off?
Where AI appears it is optional and it uses your own key. BooshSEO produces a complete report with no AI provider connected. What you lose is the interpretation, not the data. BooshHUB’s assistant answers most common questions with no model involved at all, which is why those answers are instant and cost nothing.

How do I get help if I am stuck?
Read the documentation first. Every app has its own guides and reference, and most questions are answered there. If it is not, get in touch. Messages are answered by the person who built the app, usually within a working day.
Can you set it up for me?
Tell us what you are trying to do. The apps are built so that setting them up is not a service you should have to buy, and if you are finding it hard that is usually a fault in the app rather than in you, so we would like to hear about it either way.
Can I ask for a feature?
Yes, and it helps to say what you were trying to do rather than what you think the feature should be. A surprising number of requests turn out to be something the app already does badly rather than something it does not do.
