Terms and conditions
Read this before you buy,
download or install
Last updated 22 October 2026. By buying, downloading or using a Boosh app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not buy or use the apps.
1
Boosh apps are beta products
Every Boosh app is beta software, and remains so until GetBoosh says otherwise in writing. That applies to every app sold on this site, now and in future. The apps are tested and in daily use, but they are still being finished. Features change, bugs will be found, and a new version can behave differently from the one before it.
The apps are shared experiments. There is no promise that any app will ever be completed, finished or reach a stable release, and no promise of further development, new features, fixes or support. An app may stay as it is, change direction, or stop being worked on at any time.
Buying now gets you the EarlyBird LTD rate while the apps are completed. It does not buy a finished product, and it does not buy a guarantee that any app will be free of faults or suited to any particular purpose.
2
Security is your responsibility
Every reasonable effort is made to make sure the apps have no security issues. No software can promise that, and beta software least of all. It is imperative that you take responsibility for running the apps and for the machine you run them on.
That means having your own guards and checks in place before you install or run an app: up-to-date antivirus and endpoint protection, the operating system firewall, Windows Defender and SmartScreen switched on, a standard (not administrator) user account for everyday work, and current backups. Where you can, try a new version on a machine or virtual machine that holds nothing you cannot afford to lose.
3
Packages an app downloads
Some apps download third-party packages as part of their work, for example from npm when setting up or building a website project. Those packages are written and published by other people, and GetBoosh does not control, audit or vouch for them. A package that is safe today can be compromised tomorrow.
You are responsible for guarding against that. Put package-manager safeguards in place: commit and review lock files, run npm audit or an equivalent scanner, consider turning off install scripts (npm config set ignore-scripts true) and allowing only the ones you need, and watch for unexpected packages or network access. The same care applies to any other package manager or registry an app uses, on Mac and on Windows.
4
Mac notarisation and Windows signing
The Mac versions of the apps are notarised by Apple. Notarisation means Apple has scanned the build for known malicious content. It is not a review of how the app behaves and it is not a security guarantee.
None of the apps are code signed on Windows. Windows will warn you that the publisher is unknown, and you will have to choose to run the app anyway. Only download the apps from the links on this site, which go to the official GitHub releases pages, and do not run a copy you were sent or found anywhere else.
5
Your data and your backups
The apps keep your data on your own machine, which means looking after it is also yours to do. Use each app's export and backup features, keep regular backups, and take a fresh backup before installing every new version.
GetBoosh cannot recover data that has been lost, deleted or damaged on your machine, whatever the cause.
6
Updates, changes and availability
Because the apps are in beta, features can be added, changed or removed, and an update can change how an app behaves or how it stores your data. There is no guarantee that a new version will be compatible with an older one, with your operating system, or with any other software.
Buying an app, including an EarlyBird or lifetime deal, is not a promise of any particular future feature, of completion, of development continuing, or of support being available indefinitely. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product, not of the buyer. GetBoosh may pause development, change prices for new purchases, or discontinue an app, and is not obliged to provide more than the versions already released.
Any app can be discontinued at any time, without notice, and discontinuing an app does not entitle you to a refund, in whole or in part, whatever licence you bought and however recently you bought it. When an app is discontinued, its sales, updates, documentation and support may stop. The versions you already have will carry on running on your machine for as long as your operating system allows, but nothing further is owed. This is subject to your statutory rights, set out in section 11.
7
No guaranteed results
The apps are tools. GetBoosh does not guarantee any particular outcome from using them, including search rankings, traffic, leads or sales, the accuracy of any data or suggestion an app shows, or that the websites, content or code you make with them are accessible, secure or legally compliant. You are responsible for checking anything before you publish or rely on it.
8
Limitation of liability
Please make sure you are happy to take responsibility for using the apps before you buy or install one. The apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty beyond what the law requires. To the fullest extent the law allows:
GetBoosh is not liable for any loss of or damage to data, loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, business interruption, security incident, or any indirect or consequential loss, arising from buying, installing or using an app, from anything an app produces, from any package an app or your projects download, or from any security issue on the machine an app runs on.
GetBoosh's total liability to you, for all claims together arising from or in connection with the apps or these terms, whether in contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid for the app concerned in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
9
If you buy or use the apps for work
Most people who use the apps do so in the course of a business, including work for clients. If you do, these further terms apply, to the fullest extent the law allows:
Implied terms are excluded. All warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law, including those about satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose, are excluded.
You are responsible for the work you deliver. You agree to indemnify GetBoosh against claims by your clients or any other third party arising from your use of the apps or anything you make with them.
Claims must be made promptly. You must notify GetBoosh in writing of any claim within 12 months of the event that gave rise to it, or the claim is waived.
These terms are the whole agreement. You have not relied on any statement, promise or description that is not set out in these terms. This does not limit liability for fraud.
10
Events outside our control
GetBoosh is not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, including the failure of third-party services, hosting, payment or licensing providers, package registries, internet connections, operating system changes, or cyber attacks on systems GetBoosh does not operate.
11
Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
If you are a consumer, buying for personal use rather than for a business, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the business terms in section 9 do not apply to you.
12
Disputes, governing law and courts
These terms, your purchase and your use of the apps, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, including non-contractual disputes or claims and claims about anything said or represented before you bought, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
By buying an app, you agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim, wherever you live. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and if you are a consumer living anywhere else, this does not remove any protection the law where you live gives you that cannot be excluded by agreement.
13
How you agree to these terms
Before you can continue to checkout, you give your name and the email address you will buy with, and tick a box to confirm you have read these terms and agree to them. Your agreement is recorded by GetBoosh with the date, time, IP address and browser, and passed to the checkout with your order.
14
General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, it is limited to the least extent necessary and the rest remains in effect. If GetBoosh does not enforce a term straight away, it can still enforce it later.
These terms may be updated as the apps change. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version you agreed to at checkout applies to your purchase. Questions are welcome: get in touch.
