Tracked keywords

The short list of terms a client is judged on, and why it stores no measurements of its own.

Tracked is the shortlist of terms a client is actually judged on. You build it by ticking rows in any keyword table.

It holds no numbers

This is the important part. The tracked list stores no measurements.

Every position shown on it is read back out of runs that are dated and immutable. Its history is a query, not a second copy of the data.

That is why it can never drift out of step with your reports: there is nothing to drift. If a run says a term was at 14 on a given date, the tracked list says 14 on that date, because it is reading the same row.

Re-checking the list

The tracked list has one button that spends money, and it re-checks the whole list as an ordinary Local & SERP run — priced before you press it, and producing a normal dated run like any other.

What to put on it

Keep it short. The value of a tracked list is that it is the handful of terms you would defend in a meeting, not an inventory of everything the site ranks for. The full picture already lives in Site Explorer.
